About the Internship:

At Stripe, our internship program is designed to offer hands-on experience working on impactful products that drive the growth of internet commerce. What You’ll Do:

  • Write software that will be deployed in production, impacting Stripe’s operations.
  • Participate in technical discussions, offering and receiving feedback through code reviews and design sessions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to seek and incorporate feedback.
  • Learn and adapt quickly by asking insightful questions and effectively communicating your progress.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Programming experience through coursework or personal projects. We value strong fundamentals over specific language experience, though we work with languages like Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go.
  • Previous internship experience or participation in multi-person projects, with a demonstrated ability to receive and apply feedback.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently and with the help of mentors and subject matter experts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of university education or equivalent work experience.
  • Specialized knowledge in areas such as frontend technologies or an understanding of how a service handles HTTP requests.
  • Experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage and managing work in diverse codebases.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, especially when explaining your work to stakeholders and team members.

In-Office Expectations:

Stripe values in-person collaboration. Most roles require at least 50% in-office presence, though specific attendance requirements may vary by role, team, and location.
